I want to start talking more about how we can learn to use our intuition, connect more clearly with our guides, raise our vibrational frequencies, explore, and much more but all these activities or practices won’t get you far without learning how to ground your energy.

Being grounded is an important element for not only doing any intuitive work, but for living a healthy life on Earth. So today I want to share a channeling I did with Zero to help get more clarity on the subject. If you’re looking for the basics to get you started, plus a little extra, look no further.

(My questions are in bold and Zero’s answers follow italicized and in quotations. Hope you find this helpful!)

What is grounding?

“Grounding is the action of becoming more aware of your connection to and creating an energetic balance between you and planet Earth.

When you incarnate, you form a connection with the physical body and the Earth with what you might call your chakra system. (Hey, Dave interjecting here. If this is the first time hearing about the chakra system, I’ve put a quick reference link HERE.) The “Root Chakra” being the main point for grounding. Your physical body is connected to the Earth by being made of it’s components and then moving forward, by the food, water, air, etc that person takes in throughout their life.
We want to note you are inherently connected to the Earth . On a broader scale you and the earth are vibrations of source energy. You are one. The act of “grounding” as you call it is focusing on that connection and bringing that connection back into balance.”

Why should we ground?

“Balancing your connection to the Earth has many energetic and physical benefits. When an individual’s energy system is working in harmony, your body and mind are getting what they they need to work at their peak levels and are then able to handle physical and mental challenges more easily, even to promote healing and help to prevent illness or disease.”

What causes us to become ungrounded?

“An imbalance in your energy field in the area of the root chakra. Many things may cause this but it would depend on the individual.

There are two causes we’d like to call out at this time that may not be immediately obvious and worth your consideration.

Spiritual path. During this time of transformation humanity is beginning to remember who they are and understand more about their capabilities. This is a wonderful time but extreme focus on the spiritual aspects of your life, while neglecting the terrestrial aspects of it may cause an imbalance. Treating these equally will not only stabilize your energy but will help you grow and expand your spiritual awareness and ability.

Being new. Some of you have only recently incarnated on Earth having spent lives elsewhere, maybe even be your first time there. This is a very interesting time for your planet and many have incarnated or are visiting to watch, aid, or participate during this transition. These people often have a strong connection to, or even memory of their last incarnation that continues to draw their focus. For some this is a deep connection which causes a longing for where they were before or even a resistance to being on Earth. This can have a drastic effect on your energy field. As the planet tries to feed you energetically and physically, you’re creating a resistance to it. This can impact your well being. We’d like to share that in addition to where you were previously, you’re now also from Earth. Made from the Earth herself. It’s time to embrace that fact and enjoy her support.

Accepting this doesn’t mean forsaking where you were before. You can maintain that connection while embracing your new one on Earth. The planet has much to give and during this time Earth will be there to support you unconditionally.

The focus on these sorts of things and others tend to activate your higher chakras and often leave your Root Chakra unattended. If done for too long it can cause an imbalance in your system and leave you feeling ungrounded. This actually impairs your ability to learn and explore these higher spiritual aspects, such as improving your intuition, communication with guides and your overall ability to raise your vibration. A balanced system allows your vibration to rise and for you to grow and explore while having the Earth support you in solid, stable ground.

A connection to the planet Earth is a part of every being that incarnates there. Earth is unique to the universe. Sacred. Much like your mother, without her, you would not have the incredible opportunity to be there. The Earth gives you everything. Your food, your water, your breath, your shelter, the medicines you use, and your clothing. Even things you would label synthetic, have been created using elements from the Earth. We cannot understate how interconnected you are to your planet both physically and energetically. Remembering and appreciating this connection will not only help you grow but also be of large importance as humanity evolves.”

How do you ground?

“There are many methods to ground but here a few ways you may find effective:

Food. Coming from the Earth itself, many natural foods have a grounding effect. At this moment, the more natural the source, the better the effect. Some foods however give you stronger results. Root vegetables, having spent more time in the Earth’s energy field absorbing it’s nutrients and minerals, are an excellent place to begin when feeling ungrounded. Begin adding a little more of these into your diet. You may find nuts will aid in grounding and also some meats carry this affect. Namely red meat.

Visualization. Visualization can be a very effective way to create a balance in your energetic field. We will suggest one here to use but please keep in mind that if ours does not resonate with you, feel free to adjust accordingly, letting your intuition guide the way.

  • Step one: Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. It can be anywhere at all but you’ll           want to be able to remain focused for a moment.

  • Step two: Begin breathing in and out slowly. Breathe in for 4-6 seconds and out for 4-6 seconds. Focus you attention on your breathe. Do this for a few moments.

  • Step three: Imagine or visualize that from your root chaka, tree like roots extend deep into the Earth, wrapping around rocks, moving through the soil, and digging deeper, as they reach and settle at the centre of the planet. Next imagine a beam of pure light extending from your crown chakra up and out, intense and unwavering, reaching to the very centre of the universe.

  • Step four: Continue breathing but while inhaling, visualize the breath pulling up through the roots grounding energy from the centre of the earth, up through the rocks and soil, through your root chakra, and up into your solar plexus chakra. Hold that energy there for just a moment allowing it to spread throughout your body. Now on exhale, send some of that energy out through your crown chakra through the light beam, to the centre of the universe. Now we change direction. Inhale and visualize the breath pulling in elevating, high frequency energy through the beam of light from the heart of the universe down through your crown chakra and again into your solar plexus chakra. Hold that energy there for just a moment allowing that energy to spread throughout your body. Now on exhale, send some of that energy through your root chakra and deep into the Earth.

  • Step 5. Repeat this breathing and visualization for as long as you feel is necessary. This can be done in bed, at work, before or after meditation… whenever you feel it’s appropriate.

Grounding Stones. Many natural elements from Earth have a grounding effect. Especially gemstones and rocks. They can often have the double effect of grounding you energetically and physically all at once. There are many that can do this but the following have a particularly good effect: Black Tourmaline, Hematite, Red Jasper, Shungite, Obsidian, and Tiger Eye.

Touch. Physically touching a grounded object, a natural body of water, or the ground itself has an immediate physical/energetic grounding effect. Walking barefoot in the grass, placing your hands in soil, touching the leaf of an outdoor plant or tree, putting your hand in a river, lake or ocean. This must be done through skin contact or through a natural, conductive material. This is highly affective and almost instantaneous. There is also technologies you can use to help you ground while remaining indoors that use your electrical outlets.”

What’s the most effective way to ground?

“The most effective way to ground is up to the individual and their chosen path. To discover yours, we suggest following your intuition and trying the suggestions provided here and stick with one that feels good to you. If interested, your science can even test the physical connection to the planet at the moment. It’s not fully able to test the energetic connection but some have been able to measure the effects of an energetic connection.”

Do you have to ground?

“You do not have to do anything you do not wish to, ever.”

That’s a wrap. It may have run a bit long but I think it’s an important topic. Learning how to ground has been a huge help to me personally so I hope you find value in this.

~Dave
